After getting their asses handed to them again last night, for the second debate in a row, the McCain campaign woke up this morning with the distinct feeling that the concrete they are standing in, which is now rising above the knee, is quickly starting to thicken and harden. There is no where for them to go - except further into the gutter.
So how did they respond today?
Well, today in Bethlehem, Penn. they rolled out Cindy McCain to attack Obama in what can only be described as a very lame, very desperate, and dare I say laughably transparent attempt to introduce the issue of race into this race.
Before the rally began, ole' Cindy got up to rally the crowd and delivered an absolutely pathetic, pre-canned..erh...I mean "spontaneous" challenge to Obama to "walk in my shoes for just one day."
Now, before anyone starts expressing outrage over this comment - you know, the fact that the rich, white woman with the $100 million trust fund and private jet challenging an African-American man to trade places with her -let's all see this for what it is.
The GOP is hoping, begging, wishing, pleading that we will all get just as mad as 'heck fire, goshdarn' (as Palin might say), that WE will respond, thereby starting a debate and discussion about race.
