My wife and I just returned to New Hampshire tonight. Tomorrow morning, at around 4:30 AM, we will get up and go out and hang door knockers for Obama.
We came up here this weekend, and had to return home yesterday so we could go to work today. We left Boston immediately after work today and we are both taking the next two days off from work to be here.
This is my last pre-election diary, and I am going to make my prediction here on Kos. We are going to win this thing huge. I am predicting 377 to 161. It is going to be an asswhooping of previously Republican proportions.
But this in no way let's any of you off the hook. After kicking our asses for years, our Republican counterparts are drowning in a tidal surge largely of their own making.
Your job for the next 22 hours is to throw them as many anchors as we can.
The last few nights here, I've posted a few diaries here on Kos predicting a huge Obama victory - and I've been called a troll and a Republican plant, for allegedly being prematurely gleeful (which some have interpreted as an attempt to supress the vote).
Of course, I find accusations of being a troll (for predicting victory!) rather amusing given how much time, money and energy both my wife and I have contributed to this effort. (Our in-kind contribution to this campaign is up somewhere around $2000 between lost sick time, cash donations, motel rooms, gas, food, etc.,).
But alas, let this post lay to rest any and all concerns that my predictions of victory are some kind of insidious attempt to secretly diminish the size of the impending Obama tidal wave.
Here is the deal. We are going to win tomorrow. Huge. But that doesn't let any of you off the hook from having work your asses off tomorrow. Our enemies - who are in a very real way the most vile, evil dispicable reprobates on the planet - are drowning. And it is up to you and I to throw them an anchor as they sink into a sea of their own excrement.
This is not the NBA or the NFL. Just because we are winning by a huge margin in the final minutes of the game doesn't mean that we let up. We are not clearing off the bench and sending in the third string. We have to run up the score by the widest margin possible.
And not just for revenge purposes (though I must admit that I do enjoy that part especially). There is actually a very practical reason why we need to build the largest margin possible.
Think of it this way. When this is all over, Obama is going to need the widest mandate possible. We want every single Republican member of Congress to remember that if they do not work in a genuine bi-partisan fashion to help our new President solve some very serious issues that they are going to face the wrath of a Democratic machine that did the following:
- Raised hundreds of millions of dollars this cycle.
- Competed everywhere - and won (in the vast number of races)
- Brought the end of the Reagan Revolution and the Contract "on" America to a crashing, thundering end.
In other words, when these bozos think about opposing us - we want them to cower, flinch and lay awake at night sweating the prospects of their own relection bids in two, four or six years.
So, if you are, per chance, one of those few people on this site who are doing nothing to help Obama tomorrow (other than, perhaps, voting), then I implore you to do SOMETHING to help pile on the tackle and drive up the margin of victory as much as possible.
And if you are one of those clowns who is going to make some comment about how this diary is too premature, or make some vague suggestion that I might be a troll - then don't bother leaving a comment. Just move on to the next diary. Oh, and also get up at 4:30 AM and join me to hang door knockers.
